RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER - VIRTUAL PAIR PROGRAMMING

We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer with jQuery, HTML5 and good design skills to help build/re-build a fun online event calendar, a back end event data aggregation application and a marketing automation application. The project would involve virtual pair programming a few hours per week via Skype or Go to Meeting with our subject matter expert/newbie programmer.

The dual project goals are a) get the apps built and working as quickly as possible and b) boost the skills of our programmer to reasonable competence so she can perform minor maintenance and upgrades on the apps over time. (Yes, we understand that goal b does somewhat limit goal a. It's ok.)

Experience with the following frameworks and gems would be quite helpful for this project: Facebook connect and API, Devise/Omniauth, Nokogiri, Feedzirra, FasterCSV, Twitter Bootstrap, regular expressions, and multiple date select. PHP and WordPress experience would be a huge plus, but not required.

For the first few weeks, we'll need about 8-15 hours per week but that should lessen to about 4-8 over time. The hours are pretty flexible - anytime between 9am-3pm EST weekdays, after 8pm EST any day of the week. Daytime sessions during weekends are possible options, but would have to be scheduled individually.

EXPERIENCED DRUPAL MODULE DEVELOPER

We’re looking for a Drupal module developer to help us build sites for a few select organizations. We're hoping to find a developer who works well with the rest of our laid-back but highly skilled team.

You should be a Drupal developer comfortable writing complex code. We’re not looking for Drupal ‘themers’ at this time. You should be comfortable on the command line and shouldn’t be afraid to build a custom content type and display without using CCK and views.

We are a small design and development firm with a range of clients based in New York and across the country, and focus primarily on open source, LAMP based development work. We work on clients ranging from small non-profits to large Corporations and US governmental agencies.

This is initially on a contract basis, with potential to come on full time if it’s a good fit. We’re looking for someone who we can contract on a regular basis and can provide ongoing development work. In exchange, we can commit to an agreed upon amount of ongoing work month after month. If you’re a freelance developer looking for some extra stability, this may be a good fit for you.

What you’ll need:
Drupal module development experience
Knowledge of front-end HTML/CSS and jQuery
Understanding of how to use versioning systems (we primarily use Subversion)
Knowledge of other CMS systems, including WordPress, a plus.
Not required, but if you're in the New York City area, we would love to meet in person on occasion.

We’re Drupal developers ourselves, and know and value the skill-set you bring, and believe you should be compensated appropriately. We’re open to a range of work relationships.

Please send us:
A general background of yourself and your coding history.
At least three web sites you’ve built using Drupal. For each site or project, please detail if you were the sole developer or you worked in a team, as well as specifics on what pieces you developed. If you've been working on one big Drupal project for a long time, that's ok too, send us the juicy details.
