I'm a freelance web developer with an increasing overflow of work. I'm looking for another freelancer to subcontract some of it out to; you can work from wherever you want. Someone with substantial short-term availability would be ideal but not essential. I'm definitely interested in a long-term relationship if all goes well.

The projects I work on use a very mixed bag of technologies and include both front and back end (mainly PHP) work. I'm looking for a technical problem solver, not a requirements follower; you should have a broad skill set and a knack for finding efficient solutions to unpredictable problems.

Front end

You can build a standards and SEO-aware site in XHTML or HTML5 and CSS from PhotoShop comps. My clients sweat over pixels; you should be able to build an obsessively correct rendition of a layout in the major desktop browsers and know how to bend IE6, 7 and 8 to your will when you need to. You don't need to be a mobile web specialist (or know anything about mobile app development) but you do need to be aware of the constraints of mobile devices and know how to create a site that works gracefully within them. You should also be comfortable with at least mid-level JavaScript coding, with an emphasis on jQuery.

Back end

You can make your way around in PHP and MySQL. Although you don't need to be a hard-core backend developer, you can figure out an unfamiliar PHP CMS or ecommerce package and get a basic site templated and running. You can roll your own basic data entry form or authentication system without reaching for a framework. You can set up a basic MySQL database, make structural changes or export data as needed. You can find your way around on a Linux command line.

WordPress experience is important. You can set up a WordPress site from graphic comps to launch. You're familiar with common WP plugins and are good at finding plugins to solve whatever requirements present themselves. Experience with Drupal and common ecommerce packages is a plus.

Other nice-to-have skills:
Ability to do basic design work (e.g. create a blog layout from an existing design)
Solid experience with Google maps and front-end data visualization libraries
Flash, ActionScript 3
Experience with other server-side technologies
Facebook app development experience

JV2 is looking for a freelance PHP developer. Somebody that has been killing it for years and understands the ever-shifting projects and craziness of a medium sized agency. You'll be working on 3-4 different projects at a time, so organizational abilities are a huge plus.

Specifically we are looking for somebody with extensive magento experience. Please, (please) don't apply if you don't have magento experience. All the other standard stuff... version control, linux familiarity, etc... is expected.

It's also very important to us that you are able to communicate directly with our clients directly. While we do have PM's that try to coordinate everything, occasionally it is quicker to go straight to the source to get things done quickly.

As of right now, we have about 80 hours/month of ongoing work available. This may grow in future months, or turn into full-time employment if you're so inclined.

Though we've done work with many small companies, we're now shifting focus to our larger, higher-end clients. This means we care about quality over speed and attention to detail cannot be underestimated.

Occasional Wordpress work will be involved too, though that is becoming much more rare. We have some ongoing Codeigniter projects that you could work on as well.

JV2 opened in 2008 and has offices in Denver and Salt Lake City. You'll be a needed and appreciated edition to our team.

Huge plus if you're in either Utah or Colorado, but certainly not required. We'd like to keep the work in the US for tax management reasons, but applicants from Canada will also be looked at. We love you Europe / Asia, but the time overlap has proven problematic in the past.

Hello all,First a few notes:
This project’s timeline ends inJune 2012. However, there will be continued maintenance and development work.
We are a state funded entity, and as such can not hire outside of the United «old link»ternational applicants need not apply.
Please Submit examples of your work, as well as a bid/proposal (requirements below) as soon as possible — Deadline for applications is May 1st,and preference will be given to those who submit bids before April 23rd!

The purpose of the site is primarily course search and registration database. If the student finds a course they like on the site, WyCLASS, provides a form the visitor/student can fill out. The form content is then sent to the registrar at the community college &/or university providing the course. The requirements of the system/plugin are:
Simple Administrative interface
User levels: Global admin, Course admin, student (effectively subscriber role).
Student users should be able to enter profile info
Global Admins should be able to make/edit custom confirmation messages following form submission
The system should track what courses a student user has registered for, and at the end of that term remind them to rate the course
Registered student users should be able to tweet, fb share, and (maybe) Google+ share a course they think is good/cool (a sharaholic short code is fine)
Course and Global Admins: ability to manually edit courses once loaded, as well as mark as inactive / removed from listing.
For Course admins, the ability to upload a spreadsheet, csv, etc
The course admins should be able to edit student comments but not ratings.
Global Admins should be able to stealth edit anything.
Global & Course Admins should have access to a stats page.

Again, all of this code is already written and working in PHP/MySQL, but in a proprietary / stand alone system. It just needs WP integration.

Don’t feel like you have to do everything from the ground up! WyCLASS is an award winning site integral to higher education in this state. That said, this plugin should continue that legacy of success both for us and for yourself! We’re happy to work with you and/or your team to provide you with testimonials etc along with «old link»is should be everyone\'s success story! ~ The WyoDLC Team.
