FREELANCE WEB DESIGNER
Hi there,

We need a web designer who can quickly add a Web 2.0 feel to a widget-style webapp. We have a series of pages that have already been wireframed and now they just need a designer's touch: color palettes; background textures (if any); font families; icons; border weights; shading & depth; and finally padding and margin rules for the various elements.

We're looking for a clean, modern feel. Think Dwell-style soft modern, but for content, not architecture. Web 2.0 colors, icons and chunkiness are welcome, but the style needs to steer more toward the professional than the cartoony mascot.

We need the following pages designed (and, again, they're already wireframed):
-- a beta welcome page for users to either request or submit invite codes (page has three states with very minor differences)
-- widget-based dashboard
(standard widgets include alert box, search box, user statistics and this-or-that question box)
-- search results widget
-- user profile (consists of two "about me" widgets that appear in the dashboard)
-- user signup page
(page has two states: one with expanded widgets (e.g. "employment history) and one with the same widgets but in a compressed form; page also needs a progress bar designed)

Ideally the designer would be able to develop an external CSS style sheet for these various elements. However, we will accept bids from designers without CSS skills so long as they can fully detail the choices they're making.

Designer must be comfortable working very quickly, even if the end result is not perfect. Since we already have initial wireframes, the project should ideally be completed in 2weeks or less from time of awarding.

Student designers are welcome.

I've included below five sites whose design we like. This should give you a sense of the styles we're interested in. We can offer more of these as needed.

Please email james@expertbox.com with at least 3-4 examples of your own work. Please include rate. Please list your CSS skills as well as 3-4 sites whose design you admire. Finally, please give us a sense of how much time you can commit as well as your background.
