FRONT-END DEVELOPER / PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
TechnikOne is a Charlotte, NC-based interactive collective. We primarily develop websites for both local and national clients across all verticals. We're a small, diverse team of all senior-level designers/developers.
Because of new work, we're looking for an experienced front-end developer / production specialist to help with a number of web projects.
Role and responsibility: Convert layered PSD files into pixel-perfect, functional page markup. This includes producing standards-based, clean and lean xHTML/CSS, customization and implementation of jQuery or other browser scripting frameworks to enable various site features (e.g. navigation, validation, etc) and making sure that the produced markup renders consistently across all major browsers and platforms. This is all front end work.
Examples of typical project tasks may include:
Implement a cross-browser mega drop jQuery menu
Validate user input using jQuery
Create sensible, easy-to-manage CSS with little or no hacks
Modify a jQuery carousel plugin
Organize and comment CSS; consider future developers that may modify the markup
Create SEO friendly markup
Write custom jQuery snippets to enhance UI functionality
Produce optimized JPG & PNG images from PSD files
Consider best practices and methods when it comes to page load times
Suggest HTML5 & CSS3 where sensible
Provide professional ideas and suggestions when it comes to the best means of implementing client's requirements
We're looking for someone with whom to create a solid working relationship. You must be dependable above all, honest, candid, reply to emails promptly, have a good handle of your skillset and speak up if there's a better way to approach a production challenge. Plain and simple, honor your word and refrain from making excuses when it comes to meeting deadlines. Our reputation is built on delivering when we say we're going to deliver, excuse free....
If You Have The Moxie
Ideally, two (2) years of web production experience and about 100 online tutorials should suffice (Tuts+, W3Schools,CSS-Tricks, etc), okay, maybe not 100, but know your craft. Also, having worked with an agency, design firm or other experienced developers is a plus. We're super, super easy to work with and work on some interesting projects.
If you're interested, provide us with live examples of websites you either produced 100% or was the lead developer/producer.
