ART DIRECTOR - PACKAGING
Enesco, LLC, is a global leader in the giftware and home and garden décor industries is seeking a Packaging Art Director. Serving more than 44,000 customers worldwide, Enesco distributes products to a wide variety of specialty card and gift retailers, home décor boutiques, mass-market chains and direct mail retailers.
The Art Director manages in-house and agency relationships to ensure brand consistency by producing packaging and other marketing services. The position acts as a consultant with Brand Marketing and Product Development to develop style guides. Collaborate with Brand Marketing and Product Development to develop style guides and packaging incorporating the latest graphic and print technology. Manage external design agency on the graphic development of style guides. Ensure visual brand consistency for all of our numerous & diverse brands. Formulate designs and illustrate concepts/deas through sketches via design applications such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, In Design and Quark Express. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting timetables, quality goals and other requirements.
Specific Skills
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5-10 years of progressive graphics art direction with a strong emphasis on packaging. Experience in consumer package goods and understanding of phases of product development. Record of success in developing style guides by collaborating with marketing and product development teams.
Minimum of 2 years of project management experience. Understanding of graphic brand development is required. Strong creative capability with proficiency in design methodology. Proficient in Microsoft office, Quark Express, CS3, In Design, Photoshop and Illustrator. Demonstrated success in directing the work of freelance artists and outside agencies. Ability to communicate vision to others is a must. THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED OUT OF OUR ITASCA, IL HEADQUARTERS. CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA.
