INTERACTION DESIGNER
Join our team and help us develop an extraordinary user experience for the Mercent Retail platform.
Responsibilities
Define the user experience of our SaaS platform that delivers feature and product solutions for retailers in marketplaces, advertising platforms (shopping engines), SEM and other distribution management workflows
Work with product managers, developers and other business stakeholders in developing opportunity assessments and product feature definitions;
Define and ultimately simplify what can be complex user workflow models
Design web interfaces as part of the product development process
Design and manage the user experience for multiple concurrent projects working in cross-functional product development teams; incorporate site analytics, optimization metrics and user feedback and apply them intelligently into iterative design solutions
Produce rapid prototypes for user testing, page layouts, user interface elements as needed for project design deliverables
Pioneer and evangelize user experience design across the organization; Bring inspired ideas and motivation into a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
Essentials For Success in the Role:
Experience and evidence in designing for web site usability and delivering superior online user experiences
Passion for user-centered design and the ability to demonstrate creative mastery of the principles in interface design, information architecture with special focus on workflow modeling and interaction design
Be comfortable with the big picture as well as the pixel-level details; The work ethic and personality that thrives in a super fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities and the typical amount of ambiguity that goes with it
Ability to find simple, elegant solutions for complex usability and data management workflow challenges
And In A Perfect World the Ideal Candidate would also have:
Ability to execute, from wireframes to UI development using current development technologies (jQuery, ajax, etc.)
Knowledge of HTML, CSS and XSLT design implementation and familiar with code versioning systems
Comfortable building templates that will be integrated with server-side code; knowing when it’s appropriate to use hooks is important
