The LifeStyle Press («old link») is looking for regular contributors for two of our fastest growing websites - «old link» and «old link».

The Finer List («old link») serves up a daily definitive perspective on the finer things in life to a world immersed in fads and time wasters. We encourage an intelligent and informed discussion across Entertainment, Fashion, Travel and the Arts. We also love poking fun at the fads we see passing through and like to use our column "the AntiList" to identify the one's we love yet will pass once we wake up and smell the coffee.

The Slow Way («old link») is born out of the belief that we're reaching a breaking point, a point in time where we've become so busy - we have little or no time to sit back, think, relax, appreciate or enjoy. It aims to remind us how to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. The focus areas are travel, cooking, culture, fashion and lifestyle

The ideal blogger will:
- Have a strong twitter following to help distribute the posts
- Be passionate about their writing e.g. for the slow way - they should be passionate about the concept of the slow revolution
- Write succinctly in a well structured fashion using references and links as needed to support arguments
- Be a native english speaker

Scope of work and payment details:
- 2 - 4 Posts Per Week
- Posts of 300 - 500 words
- Payment of 20 - 50 USD per Post Depending on Quality and Social Media Following
- Invoices paid monthly by Paypal

Please email jobs@thelifestylepress.com and:
- State in the subject line which blog you would like to contribute to - e.g.: "Blogger Application for The Slow Way" feel free to apply for both
- Include 2-3 suggested post titles and a few bullet points to convey the idea of the article
- Include links to 2 published articles
- Include a link to your twitter account and state # of followers or provide detail of other distribution platforms for posts
- State your location & time zone

We are a small, established design studio with a team of three remote designers that works with medium to large national/global nonprofits looking for another long-term freelance web designer to help with ongoing projects. Ideally, this person would be able to put in a consistent 25-30 hours/week (or more) during US business hours (no moonlighters). You can be East Coast, West Coast or anywhere in between. Other tasks might be layouts for interior pages, web production, web banners, email newsletters and some print projects.

Other requirements:
An interest in nonprofits, progressive organizations and design for good causes
An understanding of web design best practices
Works with grids layouts and understands how to design for responsive layouts
Understands web typography (@font-face, Google fonts, etc)
Understands XHTML/CSS3/jQuery capabilities (from a design standpoint)
Is organized and knows how to prepare files for handoff to a developer
Understands and enjoys wireframing/prototyping (we use Balsamiq Mockups)
We use the Adobe CS suite, Basecamp, Dropbox, Skype and are a Mac based studio
Must be able to consistently meet tight deadlines
Bonus points if you can do some frontend coding but no bonus points if that's what you're better at
We're looking for someone who's stylistically versatile but leaning towards clean, modern designs, someone that can take competing elements on a page (calls to action, donate, email signups, time-sensitive campaigns) and be able to organize it in a hierarchal user-centric way, someone who understands the importance of content, is a good speller, has a sense of humor, works well with minimal direction but still follows specs carefully and also realizes that this is a run-on sentence. We're not looking for a developer, so if you're proficient in php or backend databases, please don't apply.

If you're still reading this and the position interests you, please send a brief email introduction telling us about yourself (professionally and personally), your hourly rate and a link to your portfolio. If you can find the typo in this job posting, you're hired!

Only designers based in the US will be considered. Serious inquires only. Depending on the number of applications we receive, we may only respond to candidates who are selected for interviews, but we thank all candidates for their interest in this position.

An ideal candidate would have past experience writing in the poker industry. Our current team at «old link» strives to break legal online poker news stories but also report on major stories that have been previously reported but we try to add to the story with additional information and proper link attribution. I want a writer that can do both along with the occasional op/ed.

If you are interested in the writing, please let me know your past experience and a couple sentences on why you would be a good fit.

• Standards-based development master
• Javascript/AJAX extraordinaire

We are a distributed design/build/operate agency with broad and deep experience: frog design, innovative iPad apps pre-loaded in the Apple retail store, stealth mode health care startups, numerous scaled web applications, and so on. We have a strong operational focus with an eye towards organizational efficiency.

An innovative startup backed by high profile ex-Disney employees and Ivy League CS professors is working with us to build out phase two of a groundbreaking HTML5/CSS3/Javascript single page "experience".

In phase one, we worked closely with the client to bring their original vision to life, creating a stunning, HTML5/CSS3/«old link» based, iPad-centric application. The back end is powered by fully buzzword compliant technology («old link», AWS, etc.) and we've spent a lot of time creating a state-of-the-art (whatever "art" is in back-end engineering), highly fault tolerant, superawesome auto-scaling system. It slices bread too.

You'll be coming up to speed on what we've done to date, shaking your head at our awesomeness, but not averting your eyes when you unconver the inevitable wart or two (or twenty). We need someone who will be able to dive into the code, understand how past deities constructed our little universe, then move the project into the next phase, helping other developers along in the journey.

As developers ourselves, we're committed to doing the job right, which means providing great tools and development infrastructure and giving you all the rope you need to do you job without checking in every ten minutes (i.e. lots of rope, but not enough to hang yourself). We're fans of QA and automated testing; these are baked into the project from the get-go.

This is what we would like to see from you: something freaking amazing. This is not a normal web experience, so please bring something interesting to the table we can talk to you about. Mobile experience would be great, but not required. But great, nonetheless.

The obligatory bulleted list:
Demonstrated experience in making people go 'wow'.
Mucho Javascript experience
Daily sit-downs, possible travel to San Francisco/NYC area(s) on our dime.
